About Me

I am DONA trained, a member of the Central Texas Doula Association and have been researching birth as an advocate since 2008 and work very closely with ICAN of Austin and the South Austin Pregnancy Resource Center as a doula. I am a mother of two and am in awe of the power of a woman’s body in regards to pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I have a special passion for helping first time moms, mothers who have had a previous cesarean and VBAC moms. I have experience with all birthing atmospheres, home, birthing center, and hospital.

I provide support from conception through the first year, including pregnancy, birth, and postpartum such as baby wearing, homemade baby food and formula, and early potty training. Motherhood and birth take every part of your being and I believe having the support of other individuals is a vital part in a woman’s journey from woman to mother.

One of my favorite passages in the Bible is:

“For thou didst form my inward parts: Thou didst cover me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy work s; And that my soul knoweth right well. My frame was not hidden from thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, Even the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! ”

(Psalm 139:13-17)

This is never more true than in the event of pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Helping a mother see this about herself and her baby is the greatest honor I could have.
